Portugal Untold exists for travellers who want to see Central Portugal properly — privately, comfortably and without the timetable of a coach tour.

Our idea
Central Portugal is one of the most rewarding parts of the country, and one of the least understood. Between Lisbon and Porto, within a couple of hours of each other, are UNESCO monasteries, the seat of the Knights Templar, one of the world’s great Marian shrines, a university city, medieval villages and some of the most spectacular coastline in Europe.
Seeing it well is harder than it looks: public transport between these places is limited, parking in historic centres is difficult, and large coach tours rush through on someone else’s schedule.
So we keep things small. One comfortable vehicle, one driver who knows the region, one private group at a time. Each journey is planned around the people in the car.

We never combine bookings. The vehicle, the driver and the day are yours.
Small on purpose
Up to six guests. Enough for a family or two couples; few enough for every stop to feel personal.
Honest planning
Realistic timings, clear prices per vehicle and no promises we can’t keep — about waves, weather or anything else.
Time to look
We would rather you see four places properly than eight through a window.
The human behind the journey

Portugal Untold is deliberately small. There is no call centre and no fleet: the person who answers your message is part of the same small team that plans your route and drives you through the region. It is the opposite of an anonymous tour, and it is why we only take one group at a time.
